Epimediums

Epimedium x versicolor 'Cupreum'

Description –   This is very pretty flowering plant, the result of a cross between E. grandiflorum and E. pinnatum subs. colchicum. A very similar variety resulting from the same cross is E. x versicolor ‘Discolor’ (syn ‘Versicolor’). The inner sepals of both are coral pink but those of ‘Cupreum’ are supposedly a stronger pink. The petals are lemon yellow. This is a fairly evergreen plant of small to medium height. It is not as strong growing as E. x versicolor ‘Sulphureum’. We have bought both these varieties from a number of different nurseries, to hopefully ensure we have both different clones. Very few nurseries list both.
