Epimedium x omeiense 'Stormcloud' Og 82.002

Description – Epimedium x omeiense is a medium sized evergreen hybrid of E. acuminatum with E. fangii. This is a naturally occurring cross which was found on Emei Shan (Mount Omei) in China by Mikinori Ogisu, a Japanese botanist and plant collector.  This one of the two original Ogisu introductions, carries rather sombre flowers of dull purple maroon.  Oddly the colour changes significantly when the sun is falling on the flowers, when they appear rather more colourful.
