Description – Epimedium x omeiense is a medium sized evergreen hybrid of E. acuminatum with E. fangii. This is a naturally occurring cross which was found on Emei Shan (Mount Omei) in China by Mikinori Ogisu, a Japanese botanist and plant collector.  This one of the two original Ogisu introductions, carries amongst the best red flowers of any evergreen Epimedium When well grown this will produce a host of flowers with red inner sepals with orange petals fading in the spurs to off-white with yellow tips.   The name was miss-spelt ‘Akame’ for some time and the plant is still listed by that name by some nurseries.
