Epimediums

Distribution  - China,  Hunan province.

Description –   A medium sized evergreen species, with minute flowers. The leaf is of an odd shape compared with other species, as though a portion has been physically cut off. The specific name refers to this characteristic. This one is probably for the keen Epimedium collectors and botanical gardens only. Our plants from Koen Van Poucke have been slow to establish. It is possible should it eventually make a substantial plant that it might impress. At the moment we would say the small flowers and lack of spectacular new foliage colour, it is only for the keener collectors.
