Epimediums

A UK National Collection

Distribution  - Bulgaria, Turkey into West Georgia.

Description –   A medium growing evergreen species which produces small whitish flowers well above the foliage. It was first introduced into Britain in 1881, very locally to us, by Ellen Willmott to Warley Place. This is a long lived and easily grown species which is not overly vigorous. It is fine for the woodland garden but is eclipsed by many of the newer Chinese species
